Another 40 shipped!
about 3 years ago – Thu, Mar 25, 2021 at 11:10:40 PM

Alright friends! Another 40 have shipped, up to backer #60 now. This one includes the first ten Nite Modes too. Also first units abroad, one to Japan, two to the UK, and one to the Netherlands. Pretty exciting.

Now that I've got the swing of things, 20 a week is a reasonable pace. It's not as quick as I'd like, but everyone will get theirs without me having to bend space and time. My wife has seen my frustration about this and made a vaccine rollout comparison this morning that seemed like an appropriate analogy.

Also thank you to all the private messages of support!

Love,

Nick

Friday update!
about 3 years ago – Fri, Feb 19, 2021 at 07:19:56 PM

This is a quick one!

Some of the first 20ish people or so have been playing with their Bitties and have helped debug the Mac version of the desktop software, I just sent them the latest build Simon and I made last night (much more stable! doesn't crunch or cpu or freeze or any of that). Windows soon!

And a bigger batch of Bitties going out next week!

Stay tuned and happy Friday everyone!

The shipping has begun!

Well friends! I took the first set of Bitty boxes to the post office at the end of the day yesterday!

Bakers of the classic white bitty #1-21, your Bitties are in the post. More to come!

I loaded each Bitty with some Duracell Procell batteries, would love to know when they arrive safely.

I did not include any micro USB cables because most of you already have a bunch lying around.

And I'd recommend getting a charger and some rechargeable AAA for the future once those run out.

I've preloaded each one with a random sound pack - so some will get drummy ones, melodic ones, or a grungy noise machine, and you'll all be getting emails with links to the software and so you can swap at will.

I've included some behind the scenes pics below as well. Cheers everyone!

In other news

Two friends David and Hannah released a beautiful ambient album yesterday: Animated Matter - Selkie. It's also been getting a lot of lovely press. Congrats you guys! Instagram: Animated Matter

Trunk sale 😂
Let's go!
This is what they look like inside
Fully assembled, operating system loaded, sound pack loaded, about to be capped. Also upgraded ALL of the Bitties to the sharp chunky button caps, feel and look more premium than the more generic slightly rounded ones.
Knobs
Beauties
Juice
Holding this cable in while loading the operating system was wobbly and kind of boring (takes a minute)
Hands free programming (thank you Marcelo for this solution!)
For shipping: these thermal label printers are 100% worth it, this thing is turbo.
Couldn't leave the bubble mailer plain, the thermail printer makes excellent stickers!
This is the winner, simple and classy. That barcode I added for fun, will scan as "Bitty for you"
Close favorite
Seeing how much black the printer can do (no edge to edge, but can do quite a bit, also art potential...))
Also nice on black. Different color mailers let me know what's inside once these are packed.

double check your address
over 3 years ago – Sat, Jan 23, 2021 at 06:40:36 AM

2021 let’s goo!

Hey gang, I want everyone who’s moved in the last year to double check their shipping address in their Backerkit profile.

If you’ve moved, do a search in your email for “backerkit” and you will see your personal link in a bunch of the emails. (If you can’t find it message me and I’ll poke around)

I’ll lock these orders on Saturday, and print those labels!

Also! I have a big box of the shirts, and they look really cool. So whoever backed one of those will get that with their Bitties!👚🎽🔊🎛

Cheers homies! -Nick

Back at it!

Alright friends!

Break is over, and I wrapped up a client job, ready to roll!

I brought my little son to my studio yesterday to prep for the push, he had a fun time while I put everything in its place.

testing the stamp
kept the packaging simple and cost effective, stamped white boxes (I did these :)
he wanted to see how the speakers are attached, I showed him the "really hot needle that melts metal"

Apollo fiddled around with the synth while I tidied the clutter

Let's gooo!!
